Privacy Policy

Daily Book (“Daily Book”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a product operated by ACKPlus, provides software that helps daily-delivery businesses — such as milk, tiffin, water-can and newspaper rounds — manage customers, subscriptions, deliveries and monthly billing. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile app and our website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Daily Book is used by three kinds of people:

• Vendors — the delivery business that runs the round.
• Delivery agents — staff who deliver and collect on a vendor’s behalf.
• Customers — households or people who receive the deliveries.

When a Vendor adds their own customers and delivery records, the Vendor decides how that information is used and is responsible for it (they are the “data controller”); Daily Book stores and processes it on the Vendor’s behalf (as a “processor”). Vendors are responsible for having a lawful basis or consent to add a person’s details to the Service.

Information you give us:

• Account details — your name, mobile number, email address, password and role (vendor, delivery agent or customer).
• Business profile (vendors) — business name, address, logo, product catalogue and pricing.
• Customer & delivery records (vendors) — the names, phone numbers, delivery addresses, subscriptions, deliveries, invoices, payments and complaints you record. Vendors may import customer contacts from their device (see permissions below).
• Support messages — anything you send us when you contact support or give feedback.

Information we collect automatically:

• Device & app information — device model, operating system, app version and a push-notification token so we can deliver notifications.
• Usage & diagnostics — basic usage and crash reports that help us keep the app stable, collected through Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (see “Third-party services”).

Device permissions we may request (mobile app):

• Contacts — only if a vendor chooses to import customers from their phone book. Contacts are read on your device so you can pick who to add; only the contacts you select are saved to the Service.
• Camera & photos — only if you choose to set a profile picture or business logo.
• Notifications — to send delivery and billing updates. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.

Daily Book does not contain third-party advertising and does not use your data for ad targeting.

• Provide and operate the Service — accounts, subscriptions, daily deliveries, routes and monthly invoices.
• Send transactional messages such as delivery and billing notifications.
• Authenticate you and keep accounts and data secure.
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• Understand usage and diagnose problems so we can improve the app.
• Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Within your organisation — a vendor and its delivery agents can see the customer and delivery data for that business. Customers see their own data. Each business’s data is kept separate from every other business’s.
• Service providers — trusted providers who help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting and Google Firebase (push notifications, analytics and crash reporting), and payment or messaging providers where used. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Daily Book, our users or the public.
• Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We rely on Google Firebase for push notifications (Cloud Messaging), and for analytics and crash reporting. Their processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Where online payments are enabled, payment details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Daily Book.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data (see “Your rights” and our Account Deletion page). Some records — for example invoices and payment transactions — may be retained for the period required by law for tax and accounting, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
• Passwords are stored using one-way hashing — we never store them in plain text.
• Each business’s data is isolated so businesses cannot access one another’s records.
• Access is limited by role and protected by authentication.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continuously improve our safeguards.

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You can do much of this directly in the app, or by emailing us at contact@ackplus.com. If you are a customer whose details were added by a vendor, you can also contact that vendor to update or remove records they hold about you.

You can delete your Daily Book account and associated personal data at any time. See our Account Deletion page for how to request it, what is removed and what may be retained.

Daily Book is intended for businesses and adults (18+). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your information may be processed and stored on secure servers that could be located outside your country or state. By using the Service, you consent to such processing in line with this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
